Question Madico Ceramic Tint (PICS - No 56k)

My dealer told me that the only ceramic tint they offer is made by Madico. I've done a search and only found people with non-ceramic Madico tints. Does anyone here have the ceramic Madico tint (especially 35%)? If so can you post pics?

Thanks in advance!

Got it done Monday... Here are some pics... It's a little more silver in color than I was expecting but I'm getting used to it.

a number of people on here have the madico. there is a silver-ish reflection to their tint. looks awesome on pocky's car. there is also www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/ which is what i'm going to do for $275. they have many different lines, but there is a ceramic line which comes in 10th percentages. plus is that they have the IS as a car you can tint on their website!

I have the johnson window film 35% metallic front, 25% met rear and 30% non met for rear window for $209. Looks nice and loving it.

Lookin' good Buds... and I recognize those buildings in the background, but can't remember if they're off the Tollway or Central...

I take it Park Place did this for you? Did you get it from the Plano dealer? What did they charge you for the tint? It doesn't look as dark as I'd prefer, but that might also be due to the ceramic content; at least it should reflect a good portion of heat and UV!

I have LLumar ATR-30 on mine, and that seems to be the darkest/low-reflective film that's still legal. 25% is the legal limit for side windows in TX, but measuring instruments typically don't pass the exact same amount of light as the rating for the film. For example, even though mine is labeled as a "30%" film, it probably passes somewhere around 28%. Next time around, I'm going to try for something darker, or possibly a film like yours that would look good on a silver car.

Actually it's at 35 and Mockingbird (basically).

Yes Park Place Plano did my windows (and that's where I purchased my car). I had two quotes from them. They offered the standard Llumar tint for $250 or the ceramic tint for $390 (Which was actually a little less than some of the various tint shops around town). I had a $250 gift certificate to Park Place as part of a b-day gift so I went a head and got it done at the dealer. I probably would have liked it to be a little darker but I really wanted the benefits of ceramic tint.

Overall I like it. It's taking some time to get used to the reflectivity of the film.

Aside from the reflective mirror look, is there any benefit to ceramic tint? Heat resistance maybe? Both ceramic and non-ceramic have 100% UV protection...does window tint just come down to warranty?

Ceramic tint is supposed to keep a lot more heat out of the vehicle... something much needed during the 110 degree summer afternoons.

Thanks Buds...makes perfect sense. Have you heard any issues with ceramic tint affecting radio signal? Also, is there one or two brands of ceramic tint known for their quality (i.e. a brand everyone looks for)? Or is shopping around for the best deal the way to go?

I just called a local tint shop in Fredericksburg, VA and got quoted $200 for Llumar ATR tint. Computerized cut, 35% all the way around. That sounds cheap, but this is a reputable and clean shop. They also advertise 10% off on their website, so it'll actually only cost $180.

I'd definitely shop around. Ceramic tint does not affect radio signal in any way. Most people with ceramic tint seem to either have Huber Optik or Formula One Pinnacle series tint. Those seem to be the most well known of the ceramics.

$180 isn't bad at all.
