Do you use Emergency Brake while parked?
I use the E brake all the time cuz i used to have a Dodge Durango (newer model) and i think you just need to have the Ebrake on all the time you put it inpark since its big it moves back and forth and it will screw up the brakes. So on the IS i use it all the time since its a habbit
like i mentioned before, using the ebrake on inclines make more sense than on a flat land.
"Not using ebrakes will damage your tranny" is like saying not turning off your radio or fan will drain your battery.

I always use it. The "P" on the transmission should not be used to hold the car. That is what the Parking Brake is for. Brakes are cheaper than a transmisson. Here are the steps I do everytime I park.
1. set transmission to "N"
2. set parking brakes all the way down
3. release foot brake pedal to let the car rest on parkaing brakes
4. apply foot brake and set the transmission to "P".
5. turn off car.

I've never heard of transmission problems due to leaving car in Park, but I've heard plenty of stories of Parking Brakes left engaged while driving away. Like someone else said, you're more likely to forget to disengage the brake thatn to break the tranny.
where are the "Read your manual" ***** on this one?
Is ours called an "Emergency brake" or "parking brake"? If its an emergency brake, just use it for emergencies and never while parking...and if its called a parking brake, then it has to be used every time you park and you can't use it for emergencies
