was thinking about powder coating my new smokey granite 07is250 rims black......how much and what do u guys think???? im new you guys rock

Hello. Welcome to the Club!

You have the stock rims? Black powder coated wheels for a Smokey Granite may be too contrasting, especially if the black wheels get dirty and dull.

Have you thought about polishing the wheels instead? Not as bling as chrome, but it does give the car a sleeker look.

For your color, I think silver looks the best. Power coat looks like a dirty rim.

i think instead of powdercoating them black.. get them gunmetal...

If you really want to save money just never wash your rims... lol

powdercoating the stock wheels black also makes them look a lot smaller than they really are

thanx guys ill really consider your input on this one...ive just always wanted black rims at a decent price...the stock rims look good...but i just want something different.....anyone have pics of black on smokey granite???? seems like everyones driving the IS now a days....today i had to give the nod to some other guy on the road with the same car as me.....like the way black guys do it when they walk pass eachother

Powder coating has come a long way other than black... like someone said above, get them gunmetal or a different color. check out this site. http://www.custompowdercoating.com/colors.aspx
