Road raged on... guy hit me and ran...
I just got off work, drove the 1/4 mile to the freeway as usual, nothing odd going on.
So the short is that a guy in a jacked up F350 hard cut me off (into my lane)on an onramp to a freeway and as I was trying not to get hit decided to brake check me from 35MPH to 5 mph. He then took off and got some distance on me. The onramp was long and I merged onto the freeway lane and was looking to go into the middle lane. At this point I had passed him again (didnt even realize it). Next thing I know he rams his rig into me. This is his front time into my rear quarter panel (showing you I was clearly in front of him). The intent was obvious, he rammed me. So I merged over fast into the middle lane and figured out if we were going to pull over as I watched him come behind me and run up on me like he was going to ram me from the rear. At that point, superior acceleration came into effect and I stomped it as I looked for my cell phone. He was clearly trying to catch up. Unfortunately I left it at the office. So I got some distance on the guy to keep him at bay and figured that I would hit the first payphone I found so I took the next exit. He did not follow (aka where it becomes hit and run). I pulled over to a Fred Meyers and called 911. The State Patrol showed up 5 minutes later.
He basically hit me with his big fat tire and scuffed the hell out of my rear quarter panel and there’s a deep 1 inch wide scratch where a lug nut hit it. The tires scratched the pain and it wheel a bit.
The sad thing is that I couldn’t get a license plate because he was either to close or to far behind for me to see and I didn’t want to get near him again. So the gist is that the State Patrol said they couldn’t do anything. We filled out a hit and run form and left.
I found out today that a coworker was there to and saw him do the first cut off but didn’t see the later parts (because he was in the other lane and passed us up (wonder why the 350 didn’t just continue up the ramp in his lane??). So he though nothing off it, he said if he had seen the 2nrd stuff, he would have called the cops.
So I estimate that there’s probably a good $1000 worth of damage. I’m out $250 deducible and 7 days worth of car rentals.
I have no idea what this guys problem was other then he doesn’t like Lexus? I didn’t do anything to spur it on, I was just driving up an onramp!

That hella sucks. Glad to hear your alright. I used to live In Washington for about 6 years and it is bad there with the road rage. I thought California would be something like that but nope, I never had a problem here. I got chased too by some dude driving a jeep in Washington. That day scared the ***** out me because it was raining.

If you lived in a state with the "shoot first law", you could have shot him dead.

I think he made the right descision ..... anyway the nutcase in the truck will get his eventually ..... what goes around comes around ..... i believe that expression. Love my 350 but in the end it is still just a piece of metal.
What PMO me is that no one around, that saw it, bothered to report it .... that bites.

I think there is more to the story. People don't cut you off and then catch up to you after you pass them to ram you. Make no sense. Some type of exchange of words/honking/fingers must have occured. Plus with all this cutting off/break checking/etc you knew it was dangerous to be by him why didn't you play more attention and try and avoid him in on the freeway. Plus why in the hell did you get off the freeway when you didn't have his info? You could have easily followed him from behind within a safe distance to get his plates. I'm sorry it happened to you and there are idiots on the road but you have to be more aware of your surrounding because of these types of people.
