From what I've heard, production on the 350s has been cut down in order to produce more 250s with Nav.

Just what I heard though.

Toyota-Lexus as any other corporation works everyday looking for new ways to try to get your money.

Obviously, the IS250 has a higher percentage of profit margin or income for them and thats why the don't think necesarily on consumers. Its strange because they are supposed to satisfy demand and in the process get a piece of your pie. The problem with this kind of product is production limitations.

When searching for my IS350 and asking why there were so few (and contacting at least 10 dealers here in the SoCal area) several verified this. The reasoning (from the rare few dealers that were pretty upfront and honest) was there is a higher profit margin on the 250. It makes sense, a dealer would rather sell you a fully loaded 250 over a 350 with few options....the money for the dealer is in the options. All one has to do is price the cars out, a fully loaded 250 still undercuts the 350 that has few options, putting in a price point more people can afford.

Thanks guys.. I was afraid of those kind of responses.. I got in an accident with my IS 350 about 4 weeks ago (all parties ok).. which declared the car a total loss.. And was looking for the LT/VN pkg somewhere in the US..

There are 70 IS 250's currently on the ground at one of the local Houston dealerships and 30 in transit. There are a whopping 3 IS 350's on the ground and 1 in transit.

Yeah, I can verify that. When I troll one of the Houston Lexus dealers on Sundays they'll have about 25-250's and 2-350's, and usually the 350's don't have Nav.

I bought mine last August. It was sitting on the showroom floor with these options, which you just won't see today unless one special orders. With the Spider-G's and tint added the MSRP was pushing $49k, definitely on the high end of the IS 350 pricing spectrum.
