Default carpet protection?

Hello everyone,

I don't know if i am the first one to think about this but has anyone found some kind of carpet protection for the bulge in the back seat where the driveshaft is? The reason i am asking this that during rainy days or snowy days transport kids in the back always mess up the carpet in the area. Well, let me know if there is a way to protect it. thanks,

Kuki

use the all weather rubber mats. www.weathertech.com has some, but they are pretty expensive.

When I was younger my dad would put a plastic or carpeted runnner mat on the back seat floor of his cars. It was the only thing he could get to fit over the backseat bump that would stay in place. I guess it was for the same reason as you... kids are messy and dont care.

All weather mats are probably the best thing as far as mats go. For that rear bump, I would use those clear plastic covers with the spikes on the bottom end to protect that.

I like the mats the car come with, so I'm just going to have to deal with them getting dirty. Once they get messed up enough, I'll fork over more money for new ones.

My Lexus dealer has perfect fit clear mats that are made for the specific model of the Lexus. They are called "ExactMats."

I dont carry a 5th person and I have bought some cheapo "premuim" mats from the local auto parts store. They were only $35 bucks (for front and rear mats) and they are a pretty good match for the factory carpet....and when they get trashed i can just toss them.

you might want to try getting the clear plastic carpet runner from Home Depot, its pretty easy to cut to the shape. I would cut it long and tuck it under the passenger floor mats so it stays in place

clear plastic carpet runner would be your best bet. custom fit (and yes, that means YOU have to cut/fit) would come out nice and less headache for that issue.

I did bought some clear plastic floor mats (from wal-mart, all 4 pieces) for like $8. it fits pretty well on top of the OEM floor mats and it works like a charm when it rains. no mess whatsoever: just simply wipe off the water on the mats and you are done!

Good luck if you ever have kids!

I've never used the carpet side of my mats, I've had the rubber side up since I bought the car, little easier to clean, but they don't look as good.

Oh yeah, for those of you who bought tan interior? Don't ever buy tan interior. Black is much easier to keep clean!
