Default MT Shift ****

Thinking about changing my MT shift ****. Does anyone know the one from 1IS (the silver metal ball) work with 2IS?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

every time i get a new car (Manual), I always check out different shift *****, but never really find any that I like. They always seem so cheesy, but maybe i'm not looking at the right sites...but I search pretty extensively.

If you're going to get a new one for your MT, get the heaviest one possible, it helps a lot with shifting. I had one on my maxima which had a B&M short throw in it, and the **** weighed what felt like 2 pounds, and it made a world of difference in the shifting. you could literally throw it up and down into gear...made for excellent shifts.

Was the **** on the IS300 solid metal? would be pretty sweet it if was. And if you could find one, you could always drill and tap it to fit your 250. Any experienced machinist could do this without a problem. If you could find yourself a one man machine shop, he'd probably do it for 10 bucks. Or send it to me.

I generally laugh at anyone who puts an aftermarket shifter on an automatic, because there is no use for it and I have yet to see a classy one...but i'm glad to see you have a MT!

Kinda like the kid I saw the other day with holes cut through the seat of his bone stock accord to make room for his nifty 5-point harness. :-p

Other than aesthetics, what's the purpose of another shift ****?

I say, keep the ****, and spend your money on other mods. For the same price, you can change your interior lights, or get all weather floor mats, or change to sport pedals, or whatever...

sorry guys.....been out of town for a few dayz......here's some pic of the shift **** for your reference.....

i guess it's leather wrapped on plastic? it's not that heavy...

the only thing is that you have to pull up the ring (right below the ****) to shift in reverse.......

i don't think that ring is part of the actual shift ****. so u can just untwist the **** and the ring will still be there... makes it a lot easier to just replace the ****.

The OEM know is quite stubby and short, and also has enough room on the underside so the plastic ring can slide up into it when engaging reverse.

I don't think you'll find an aftermarket **** that will work.
