Question '07 or '08?

I am finally ready to purchase a new car and have decided the is350 is for me. If I wait another six months or so and buy an '07 just before the '08s arrive, will I get a better deal? If I can save close to 2k by waiting it would be worth the wait. Also, most of the is350s I have seen at dealerships in ATL have nav and I do not want nav. If I have to order the car, how much negotiating power will I lose? Did you all ask to see the dealer invoice and negotiate up from there? I read the previous thread on what you all paid and that was very helpful. Thanks.

There are plenty of Is350 w/o Navi, so you shoudn't have problem locating one.

What constitutes the end of the month for car purchases? Say, after the 25th of the month? How late can I get on carsdirect and expect to complete the purchase in the current month and does carsdirect put my local dealers in a bidding war for my business? Thanks again.

The main question is do you want the car now??? It's like asking if you should wait for the 3rd gen IS. If you want it, buy it! Enjoy the time owning it not thinking about it.

I think this is a very legit question... but not for '07 vs '08. I am kind of in the same position... would we generally get a better deal waiting 5-6 months until the '08 models come out and get a good deal on an '07?

YES...as long as you're flexible about options and colors.

If you're willing to wait, wait until December again. (Just think how fast 2006 went by. Time will fly). That way, you can get an 08 probably at invoice or better again.

I'm thinking the macro-economy will not be nearly as good by the end of this year, so I'm sure dealers will really value business come December.

And keep your eye out for Taste of Lexus events to see if they are giving out coupons again.

i got to their web site 1/29 (just browsing) and bought the car Jan 31. the guy from carsdirect offered me ~$500 below invoice. so i went to the dealership and bought it.....just get in the dealer, pay and go home with the new car!

if you have one (even tho it expired), just called lexus customer service, they might still honor it! They extended mine till feb 28, 2007!
