Congrats on the install! That's great that you got it working!

Any updates on the full writeup? I would also like to know the costs...

Unfortunately, I cannot give out the wiring diagrams or my excel spreadsheet. The person who helped me with the install is worried that I would be passing along proprietary lexus information.

So the person who does want to do the install would need to
A) Buy the navigation system, with the wire harnesses that connects to the Navigation (2 sets come from the car into the navigation. 3 connectors that hook to each other.)

B) Navigation antenna from a 2006 Toyota Camry. it costs $160. Some dealers sell it for as low as $117. You also need a navigation cable.

C) Log onto the Lexus tech info website. And get these diagrams for the IS250/350
CLOCK > TERMINALS OF ECU
NAVIGATION SYSTEM > TERMINALS OF ECU
AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM > TERMINALS OF ECU

D) After you get those three files then I can give you my excel spreadsheet. i am not charging for it. I just want to make sure that you have access to the Lexus Tech info site, before I give out info... that uses their info. That way, I am not breaking copyright laws... etc.

11 wires hook into the wires that connect to the old climate unit
2 Wires hook into the right side radio harness
4 wires hook into the left side radio harness.

Also when you do this install, a lot of functionality is missing

You do get the Navigation, climate control and the DVD playing... but thats it. I dont know how to hook up anything else.

You dont get
1) Bluetooth
2) Voice Guidance(dont know how to get it working)
3) Back Up camera (This is probably easy to do though)
4) Voice Recognition

Please remember I did this on my cousins car. My car has the Navigation and ML OEM

We bought the navi system for pretty cheap off this board. I think too many people on this board are afraid to try things. It was in the classifieds for a week, while I talked to seller down. We paid less than 1K. I am surprised that no one bought it from under us.

Default Just Installed Factory NAV in Non Nav IS350

Well I finally completed the switch out, Thanks to Egusman (Lexus Audio) who supplied all of the components, I now have all the functionality that the owners with the factory install enjoy. Everything is working, the only thing left is to install the camera in the trunk, I'm just waiting for the back panel part. Installation took about 20 hours and would be very easy for me to do nowthat I know what I'm doing. check out the picks,

Garry

Great job. IS every function working (backup camera, bluetooth, etc)? I noticed your new navi has Mark Levinson, does that mean you swapped out the factory amp, wiring harness, speakers, rear panel (for those 2 midranges)?

I'd like to know the cost of this too. Nav isn't even an option here, and is pretty pointless. One day I may move back to the states and would have to have it.

Total cost is $3500.00 American, Includes custom harness, microphone, camera, rear license plate/camera holder, GPS antenna, Nav disk and head unit. I used the exisitng Amp taping into it under the centre console (connector JP1), three wires in total to run back to amp for the new head unit. Everything works, DVD player, GPS, Bluetooth phone, Voice command, steering wheel buttons, climate controls, my XM radio, Cd player. No, I did not change the amp or speakers to ML.

Hmmm.. I bet this guy knows where we can pick up an extra nav P1 and J50 harness with connectors to make our nav hack cable.

You can order the connectors from Lexus. Maybe even Sumitomo, Tyco, or AMP if you can find the part number on the original connector.
