You can also turn off the nav screen completely. When you change the sterao, cd, vol, or climate the little drop down screen still comes out but the nav screen if still off.
When you hit the audio or climate botton it turns.

Can anybody explain why they used gorgeous white lights for the speedo while chose to use murky swamp water green for the center console?

Yeah I was wondering the same thing too. If they had white instead of all those boring green lights, it would've looked 10X better IMO.

Almost all Toyota/Lexus/Scion has green console buttons.

Perhaps the consoles are all made by the same manufacturing company for Toyota Corp, hence a family resemblance with the use of green console lights.

I guess that makes sense....probably saves them money by using the same stuff over and over. Our SC and GX both have swamp green backlights too. I hate to say it but that color is the same as in my friend's Freelander.

The IS300 is the only Lexus model I can think of that doesn't have green.

is there a way to make the LEDs from the front and the back to light up when the door is opened? as i drove the ES350 loaner car, i liked how the interior LEDS light up when you open the door or unlock it...

The new LS got white lights from what I hear. Maybe we'll have to wait til the next gen white lights in the IS, or at least until it trickles down the line.

Default thanks for this post.

I have to say that there are reasons why I love this forum so much.....
When I just got my car a few months ago. I didn't pay that much attention to the center console. At night, while my wife was shotgun....She complained that she couldnt see what buttons were for what? All the console buttons were not lit up at all.....nada... I mention to her that "it is what it is". I dont think they light up at all... and she said "what...for a Lexus they can't make these things light up???" Now I came across this post and to my surprise....hey they do light up...green!.... I said WTF??? Found out a 7.5amp fuse was blown all this time..... Thanks CL Forums....this forum never cease to amaze me.....
