If my antenna was stolen, it will be covered under the Protector Plus program.

This program is not a dealer add-on, but a program that I believe is required by Lexus Canada for all its dealers. Dunno if there is somethings similar in the US.

Anyother way to check if you're enrolled in the Proctector Plus program is open your trunk and look at the bottom ledge, you should see a serial part number with the "protector plus" label on it. If you don't, then you're not part of this program and you will need to file a claim with your insurance.

good luck!
This is an option that some dealers try to tack on in the US, although it seems to have lost its popularity in recent years. They etch your VIN number on your windows, and put stickers on the key body parts. I don't think anyone recommends it for it really doesn't prevent any theft since it is not mandatory. It's like the paint protection, upholstery protection, undercoating and other programs that are usually overpriced and have a large profit (to the dealer) built into it. If its mandatory in Canada than its just another source of profit for the dealer. Are you sure an antenna would be covered in this plan?

I feel you bro!
The fin is around $150 but need to special order for color matching. Hope they did not damage the paint and bent/dent the area while the removed the fin.

I bought my IS in Toronto, and refused to pay for "Protector Plus" even though the dealer claimed it was already on the car.

I'm pretty sure some bylaw was passed so that car dealers couldn't force customers to pay for window etching or similar...but I don't remember where I read that.

When the car was delivered, it did have the protector plus on it, and I have since learned that protector plus is, in fact, a type of insurance. Dealers like it because it covers their (relatively high) deductables when cars are on their lots. If a car gets stolen and isn't recovered after 30 days, Protector Plus pays them $4000 - $5000 (I don't remember the exact amount). I believe that Lexus names itself as the policy holder, and then will give you the insurance money towards a new Lexus. In my case, Lexus would just keep the money, since I opted out of the service.

Sort of weird that by opting out, it's in Lexus' best interest that my car gets stolen...
