I think I somehow dropped my key outside my place last night (the key got detached from the glove box key...) Anyways, just wondering if anyone knew if its possible for a dealer to reprogram my spare and the car and how much it should cost. Back to digging through my stuff hoping it turns up.

that's pretty cheap compared to most other keys. then again, how much is programming?

 

I think that varies in the dealer. I remember that my 05 altima has one of those
keys with chips, I bought one blank in e-bay and the dealer charge me $90 just
for programming, I called other two dealers and they charge the same. So I will same they will charge you somewhere 90-150 dls for programming.

 

$50.00 to program smart key. Bring it in for a oil change service and u get a loaner.

 

I think what Foyler is asking is:

how much it will cost for Lexus to completely reprogram his car and his 2nd key; since he lost one, he doesn't want someone to be able to just steal his car.

And i would guess it would cost a lot....

 

$50. Delete all keys and reprogram remaining keys. It takes a couple more minutes is all.
