First Oil Change

I was wondering what mileage should I bring my car in for the first free oil change. Right now, my mileage is about 2,800. Should I bring my car in at 3k or 5k? After the free oil change from the dealer, I will be using Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

I did my first oil change at 5K miles, and sent a sample of the used oil to Blackstone labs for testing. The oil tested fine, so I don't see any reason to change it any sooner.

Just change the oil at whatever period is most confortable to you.

My first oil change was at 730 miles. Thats because the factory overfilled the oil and wanted to get all the metal shavings out of the engine.

I suggest you pull the dipstick and check the level and condition of the oil, if the level is normal and the oil is not pitch black, you can wait awhile longer. IMHO I would wait until 5k, since the factory fill is intended to be the 'break in' oil. You might want to search some of the threads on synth oil use, not sure if 5k is the right interval to switch over or not . . .
