Default Personalize settings, DIY???

I know I get one free from the dealer then $50.00 ea. It is a money pit for them to do this. Can it be done myself? What tools do I need? Can I rent it?

Why would you need more than ONE LPS adjustment? The list isn't that extensive, so just decide on what adjustments you want and have it done once. You can't do it yourself, and I don't think Lexus will rent the tool to you. Even if you had to pay $50 for subsequent adjustments that doesn't sound too far out of line to me. It is a $40k+ automobile after all.

I want to increase the light delay. It is less than two min. to do. $50.00 for 2 min. ? That is more money than a lawyer!

Ummm, not exactly. The potential options list is about 7 pages long. Click here.

You'll be fine without your light delay. I say you should just keep your expensive $50.

The tool will cost you between $6k and $8k, not including software updates. It is not practical for the home mechanic to purchase one of these unless you really dig expensive tools you'll use a few times a year. It only makes economic sense for repair facilities.

Yes, I was aware of the full list of options. Many are pretty esoteric and not likely to be of interest to MOST people. But even with a 7 page list most owners would know what they want by sitting down with the list and checking off the changes they want to make.

Agreed. That's part of why I made that document. So members could do exactly what you said - use it as a menu to decide what they like and don't like, then take it to their service advisor all filled out to get the car personalised.

I thought that the LPS should be free of charge... Since the initial setting was set by Lexus without asking our needs. So it should be free of charge! IMO

LIGHT OFF DELAY
Keeps the headlights on for a certain period of time after turning the engine switch off and closing all the doors with the headlights on.

The default is 30 seconds but I am going to ask the dealer to turn it off since I get the first done for free.
