Default For those with Nav

I noticed something weird while going in reverse, try this:
1) Switch to reverse gear. You should get the rear view on your Nav screen.
2) While still in reverse gear, press Climate like you are going to change the
climate.
3) Step on the brake to stop and wait while still in reverse gear.

Does your Nav screen return to the rear view automatically? Mine doesn't.
I have to switch to either P,N or D and back to R before I get
the rear view back. This is a bug.

that would be my question also. Hopefully, you aren't adjusting the temp as you're running over the mailbox.

haha seriously man, the rear camera is supposed to help out, not be a substitute for backing up.

and for the record, a bug is where the process SHOULD work a particular way and it DOESN'T work as it is intended. just because something doesn't work the way you prefer it to work doesn't mean it's a bug. An example bug would be if you touch the Dest button and the Climate screen came on or you put it in D and the rear camera came on.

Once you turn off the rearview camera, it's gone. But like you said, you know how to get it back, so what's the problem? I like the way it works.

Another interesting thing that I found out about the
navi unit and reverse is that it does dead reconing
even in reverse to calculate your position.

I hooked up a switch to show the backup camera
whenever I wanted to view behind me. That is when
I noticed that it was calculating my position going
down the highway thinking that I was traveling
in reverse. My position would end up in the middle
of a field when I flipped the switch off. Of course
it would correct itself after a few seconds as soon
as it received a GPS update.

To fix this problem, I had to cut and bypass two different
wires during the switch activation.

If I'm driving with the map displayed and I change the climate settings, it
automatically goes back to the map. Shouldn't it do the same while in reverse?
