IS-F 0-60 is 4.9 sec? huh
I dont get it, the IS F 0-60 is reported at 4.9 seconds? So the weight of the V-8 killed it?
Some of us here in the forum are reporting 4.5-4.9 sec 0-60 in a stock IS350
How could they make the sport upgrade slower?

Regardless of what various people/mags run the 350 at, Lexus lists it officially at 5.3 secs. They will officially list the IS-F at LESS than 4.9 secs, not 4.9 secs.

i thought the same thing.
they need to shave off more than .5 a second, closer to a full second to really kick some ***. and those paddle shifters better work a whole hell of a lot better than they do now....

Beside the possibility of being under rated, we have to remember that traction is a problem too. There's only so wide of rubber they can stuff under the 2IS fender without rubbing. Unless the suspension arms were different on the IS-F (which I doubt), I don't see how it can fit a much wider tire without interference.
Honestly I am not surprised that the acceleration times would not be SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the 350, since they are all taken from standing still. But when the car is in motion, the extra power would make it a totally different story!

That's what I was wondering too...
1 video doesn't make the 350 a 4.5 second car, especially since we don't even know how they timed it. At any rate, if there is 1 out of thousands of IS350's running that time, there will be 1 out of several IS-F's that run significantly faster than most as well.
You are seriously showing your ignorance if you truely believe that the IS-F is going to be slower than the 350... Let me guess, you also go around telling your friends your IS350 does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

The one with the motorcycles?
That video is from Japan, which means that the car and engine haven't been federalized to meet North American fuel, emission and economy standards.
I only know of one US magazine that has been able to break the 5 second barrier (4.9 seconds); 5.1 to 5.3 are far more typical results.
