Default Lighting question

okay, I'm looking to change the side mirror lights and the front parking light (wedge bulb). I know some of the members have bought from V-LED, but I'm not sure which type to buy for either the front parking or side mirror puddle lights. Please let me know what you guys think. Also, do we need load resisitors for these leds? I remember it was a pain to install leds on my MBZ. I have crossed over to Lexus now, and I'm not looking back!

theres the 5 refractor leds and the high power ones that shoot straight.

Which one should I use for the side mirror and which one for the front parking?

high power for the fronts and refractors for the side mirrors. the way the bulb sits in the side mirrors isn't down firing so if you use the hi power, it won't shoot down. you might wanna try velocity's new side firing 194 led bulbs. perfect for bulbs that fire to the side such as the side mirrors and vanity lights.

If I change the original bulbs to led bulbs, do I have to change the fuse also? When I had my GTI, I remembered after I changed all the led bulbs onto it, but didn't change the fuse, all my lights had gone crazy...brake lights weren't on, one of my headlights wasn't on either...etc. I am scared that I would mess up the electricity on my IS...

has anyone put the velocity in the fronts? i heard that its not a good idea to put inverted leds into the front cuz it would melt from the heat in the housing. dunno if the velocities would react the same way as the inverted leds

I think I should get the high power velocity for the side mirrors... I think there is a CL got the reflactors for the side mirrors and he/she state that the light output good enough... I would like to know the result of the high power velocity for the side mirrors...thx

Just tried both in the side mirrors last weekend. The high power ones don't work well because as stated before, they don't point down. The high power leds also don't work well in the parking lights as all you see is a point of light coming out of the housing and not being reflected in the parabolic mirror of the light. The 5 led refractor works best in both cases. I ended up putting the high power leds in the front dome light inside, and BTW if the light comes on inside, break out the sunglasses .! They definitely are bright. The right angle led might work in the side mirror, I'll have to check that out.

Pictures of the inside job you did. I want to see how bright.
Would also be nice to see how the led does at lighting up the mirror lights. I wanted something brighter than stock.
