Question Caller ID - +1 for area code issues...

OK, so it seems that some people who call me on my bluetooth cell phone, their number appears on the nav screen as +1.XXX.XXX.XXXX and other people just have XXX.XXX.XXXX...

My problem with this is that their NAME will NOT appear on the screen if their number in the phone book is not EXACTLY as it appears on the caller ID...

Very annoying... Has anyone else noticed this? Do you simply have to wait until someone calls you and then edit your phone book entry to make sure the caller ID works?

that sounds annoying. phonebook match should happen at the 7-digit level, it's pretty rare to have a dupe.

More annoying is how voice dial from the phone doesn't work through the car. Having to manually enter the voice dial name for each contact is annoying. my phone does this without any programming required.

My phone doesn't have that feature, so I'm glad the car has it.

yeah but you have to program every single one in the car. Cell phones have been auto recognizing voice for a few years now.
