Just got my IS350
I must say the ride was really comfortable even for a trip that long. I never found myself aching like I have on other long trips in other cars. The car drives smooth and quiet even at very high speeds (wink wink). I love this car. I've test drove one before but never really messed with all the options but now after owning it, WOW! The Mark Levinson sound is much better than what I thought it would be. I was planning on adding an aftermarket sub but this thing pumps out some serious bass already. It has a nice balanced sound. I may just save the trunk space. I also got much better gas mileage than what I was expecting. I got 33.5 MPG on my second tank. I even verified this at the pump. I did have a 70 mile per hour tail wind but still. If you've been watching the news you will know about all the heavy wind in that part of the country. It was crazy. Flipped trucks all over the highway. My other tanks, I was still getting 29-30 highway miles. I'm quite happy with those numbers especially considering a 306 hp V6. I'm anxious to see how my city driving numbers look like.
The only minor complaint I have is the navigation doesn't have my house address for some reason. My house was built in 1999 so I would think it would be on there. It's almost like the info that was submitted for my neighborhood is wrong. The streets show up but they are not drawn out quite right. Some streets don't line up right and some connect to streets that they shouldn't. I may visit my local Lexus dealer to see if the latest version fixes this. Not that big of deal though. I just manually put in my home address by looking at the map.
First on my mod list is tail light red outs and smoke outs, reflector smoke outs, new fog and parking lights, and new wheels. I'm also thinking about having slightly darker tint put on the front windows. I may add an intake too but still undecided.
Enjoy the pics. The car has not been waxed YET. I'm going to get a Porter Cable first.
You'll find that the nav systems doesn't have exact house addresses. The map data may indicate that a particular section of a street has addresses from 101 through 171; the nav software will assume that they are evenly distributed along that section. If in fact the homes are actually bunched up at one end, the system will tell you that you've arrived at your home too early or too late.
I couldn't believe it when I actually had those numbers though. My old 4 banger Eclipse was barely better than that. Lexus sure knows how to make effecient engines.
