Default Suspension Characteristics IS350

Just rolled over 6500 miles. I wanted to ask how your suspension is holding up?
Stock OEM.
If you have the Lux option, have you noticed any significant ride degradation?
How about if there is a dip or an sudden increase road elevation (like some bridges on an interstate highway or a road patch)
Has your car gone to full suspension compression and hitting the rubber suspension stops?
Hows it going?

I would certainly hope that after 6k miles there isn't any issues with the suspension... I 'm at 21k and everything seems fine on my Lux

16k miles with me and no changes with suspension.

It is now a little more firm compared to the first 1k miles, but then again, I was babying the car breaking it in...

Default suspension travel

Right, I am am the same way, paved road, no offroading, no curbs. I am running it by the dealer friday morning. I hope the shocks are easy to take off. I will be interested if you can compress them or how easy they are to compress.
Wish me luck, cause when I scheduled the appointment, I could tell in their voice they were somewhat skeptical. Its easy to replecate, if you can find the right spot. I know off three near my home, but nowhere near the dealer as its 165 miles away. I will let you know.

you know there is an equal school of thought that says babying might not be good for engine break in

Default update

Well, I have a new set of rear shocks on the way, as my current set has gone bye-bye. No physical trauma to the shocks. No leaking of fluid. I was allowed back with the car in the service bay. Something definitely has grenaded inside the shock, as they offer no dampening resistance to the springs at all. It was easy for the technician to recreate the issue(I rode with them) and they have ordered new shocks for the rear of my IS350. The concrete road seemed to take the final toll on them, in their weakened state on my way to the dealer Friday morning. Route 52 in NC, for you all that has driven on this road. On IS350, the rear shocks are the same part number whether you order Luxury package or Sports package. They just went bad in the past three weeks. You will notice if yours start to go bad. The new shocks should be in this week. Then another 160 miles back to the dealer. Lexus ought to ante up some gas money
Will let you know the results.

Tip: Next time your 'IS' is on a lift, ask to be allowed to look at it closely. You will be impressed by the build quality and attention to detail Lexus did with this car. I was really impressed and pleased. No beer cans welded to the bottom of the car.

Default Shock update

Well, the dealer replaced my rear shocks last Thursday. The things were completely shot. You could move them in & out with little or no resistance. The valve inside of them must have failed. One of them gave a small amount of resistance, the other failed completely. The two new shocks were very stiff. They are Tokico brand. The shop foreman said the district manager wanted to see this set that came off my car. 6750 miles. The worn out shocks were going to someone in Atlanta then to Lexus, in California. They will then be sent back to Japan, probably the manufacturer, Tokico.
We brought the care home, and it was back to normal, like it was new again. It did not bottom out on the way home. It took them a couple hours to replace, everything looks good so far, no rattles. I guess everything is put back like it was. Seems to be.
we'll see how these do, I must have just got a bad set. Strange.
