Default Does anyone know how to clean the air conditioner filter?

My 15K maintanence is up. Rather than paying over $200 just to get an oil change, clean out the A/C filter, and re-torque axle flange bolts, I would like to clean the a/c air filter myself in the gloove compartment. I did a search and couldn't find the DIY guide. Anyone know how? BTW, what the heck is re-torquing the axle bolts?? Would appreciate the help.

The A/C pollen filter is in the back of the glove box. The filter isn't cleaned, it is replaced. Instructions on changing it are in the owners manual.

it's in the glove box. First you have to set the climate control to recirculate air. The you open your glove box and take out the shelf. Then you lift up the plastic panel in the back and pull out the filter.

i thought they just replaced the a/c filter? and axle bolts, i think they just tighten them. just buy the filter, and get the oil change (50 or 35 if you provide your own oil).

i forget where but i thought someone said to not worry about major maintenance untill close to 60K. until then, oil changes at 5K should be fine with the occasional filter changes, etc.

Thanks guys. And for the 15k maintanence, it only needs to be clean under the owner's mantainence manual no need to replace the filter yet.
