Default Some Advice Please

Hello all!

Obviously I am new to the forum, but I have been lurking for the past month or so. I just put down a payment on a 2007 IS 350 SGM/Black LUX/ML/NAV - my dealer said that it would be a 2 to 3 month wait. I don't mind waiting, although I would rather have the car sooner than later.

Yesterday I got a call from my dealer and he has an IS 350 coming in a week in a different package: SGM/Black X-Package/Prem/NAV/HID's.

The only option that I really want that would be missing is the ML - but I have not heard the standard Pioneer system. What would you do if you were me?

Any advice would be great, thanks!

There's a lot more than just the stereo that comes with ML/Lux package...be careful. I settled for a premium package car, but there's a few things I would've liked to have (seat memory, power tilt/telescope wheel, auto-dimming outside mirrors, etc.)

Mine is identical to what you are looking for (aside from being a 2006) and I love it. Just like vApor21 said "I would wait for what you want...Dont settle"

This is exactly why I went for the lux package despite the significant weight penalty. I knew I would be sharing the car with the wife, so the seat memory was a huge one. I know my physical dimensions are outside the norm they use for designing cars, so the telescoping steering was also a big deal. The only thing I would have passed on is the sunroof.

Like everyone else says - get what you want, not what the dealer wants to move off his lot.

Yea have patience and get what you want. I was in a similar position as you and I had many opportunities to purchase an IS that was close to what I wanted but not exactly. I waited and I got exactly what I wanted and am as happy as can be. The little extra things in the lux package are worth it like the rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming and auto-tilting outside mirrors, telescopic steering wheel, power sunshade, HID, and memory system which can be programmed to the key. And the ML sound system is unreal.

Actually, I was you. I ordered the exact car I wanted. I hate waiting, but decided that I'd really hate having a new car and ultimately wishing I had an option later.

get what you want, not what the dealer wants to sell you.

I agree with projectdna's comment. You are the one paying for the car. You need to get "exactly" what you paid for, not settle for something else. This isn't a $15,000 Scion.
