Default wheel size

hey all,
im looking at a set of wheels, and I was wondering if I get 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 wheels with 5x114.3 lug size and 35mm offsets will work?
Also, what is the size of the stock wheels?

Thanks!

I think the 8.5's will work on the front, although they will definitely be flush. The bigger problem up front is that some wheels don't clear the big brakes. 9.5's on the rear will definitely stick out beyond the fender. I say this because I have 18 x 8, 35 offset up front, 18 x 9, 35 offset in the rear. The rear on mine is flush, the fronts are slightly less than flush.

If you have trouble clearing the brakes with an 18" wheel, it's a pretty poor fitment. The car comes stock with 17" wheels.

theres more to it than diameter to enable a wheel to fit on a car with big brakes

I was implying that the style of the wheel/spokes may interfere with the brake caliper, not the size. Obviously, a 17 or 18 diameter works.

I know. That's why I said poor fitment. I'm familiar with spokes hitting calipers. I'm also familiar with shaving calipers to clear spokes as is anyone who has put drag wheels on a stock MkIV Supra.
