Hey all,
I am about to buy an HID kit for my car, and I was thinking about going with the MTECs. I was wondering what yall thought about them? I know other HIDs have had problems with the electrical wiring.
Thanks!
Haha... if I know which thread you're referring to (and I probably do ) the electrical wiring/problems have nothing to do with the kit and everything to do with the quality of installation. The MTEC is a pretty common kit, and I've seen it myself. Which kelvin were you considering getting? On the 6000k kit, I noticed that the light output has almost a greenish tint in comparison to the XenonDepot kit. I know of one member, gshb, that has the MTEC 6000k kit... You might want to try PM'ing him to see what he has to say about them.
IF your looking for a aftermarket HID upgrade kit I would def. go with Xenon Depot. You are getting a genuine philips bulbs and ballast. YOu cant go wrong there.
I've had my MTEC 6000K for more than 4 months now and have had no issues. Yes, quality of installation can dictate its performance. That's why I didn't trust anyone to install it but myself. Best of all, it's free. To me, it looks bluer than the xenondepot kit. As for my wiring harness, I check the connections from time to time and they are still solid. I'm very happy with it . Now I want to change my fogs to match the low beams. Right now I have MTEC 4750K Cosmos Blue halogens on there. The low beams overpower it so its there just to look pretty.
