Your too cautious to let someone drive your 8 year old daily driver civic, but not **** enough to let your family drive your IS?

Wait I got a solution..... get one of your friends to drive your IS while you follow in your civic.... since you don't trust anyone to drive your Civic this makes sense right?

Really either spend the 60 bucks for a van/taxi/car, or take both your cars..... You're screwing with people's lives at that point, and while the chances are nothing would happen, what would happen if something did? Could you live with that?

I agree, you're crazy. Hmmm you don't trust someone to drive your 98 Civic that's worth what, $2000? But you trust them to drive your IS valued at roughly $35,000?? Please explain how that makes any sense at all.

This is a stupid thread and it needs to be closed.

Well he is letting people use his IS vs. his civic so I can imagine he can trust a friend. His issue is full of contradictions.

Just get a Taxi or rent a Lincoln town car to take them from the airport, It would probably cost around $60 for the town car and im sure thats a much better deal than running the risk of getting someone killed and also the fact that your car will be murdered in the process of carrying 4 adults in the back!!

Go to Enterprise and rent a minivan. Problem solved. Or whatever car rental place is available. Why put stress on the new ride. You'll waste gas with two cars going to the airport. You'll end up oweing someone a favor if you borrow a car/van. Everyone will be comfortable in a bigger vehicle. Airports and holidays are stressful enough and then you cram them into your little car. DON"T BE SO CHEAP AND THOUGHTLESS.

Default Why is everyone becoming HOSTILE?!?

My goodness, instead of good advice, you guys are just eating him alive!

Here's the simple truth: YOU NEED A SECOND MODE OF TRANSPORTATION.

The IS won't suffice for the load of passengers and baggage that you have. That's all.

Good luck and I hope all goes well.

Might have to do with him risking the life of a family member to save what....60 bucks/an hour and a half of drive time/or letting someone drive his other car..... all really good SAFE ideas that were offered that were turned down .... but maybe it doesn't have anything to do with that????

I can't imagine you really are serious that this sort of wreckless idea being floated should be answered on this site.... If anything did happen and the guy says he got the idea from "club lexus" what kinda can of worms that could open?

PhilipMSPT, we gave him plenty of advice but he has an excuse for everything....I tried man.

1) Have a friend drive his other car...no good
2) Get a taxi, Limo, Town Car.... no good
3) Rent a car.... no good
4) Ask a neighbor for help.... no good

Ladies and gents if we cannot be tactful with our responses MORE warnings will go out. I have a bag full of them

We are working on re-establishing the COMMUNITY feel of this forum and answers that are insulting and not helpful destroy that feel.

I will post Dave's thread again, some of you need to REVIEW it.

Now
1. I do believe in most states, it is technically ILLEGAL to drive with more people that passengers.
2. It is amazing to me some of us are acting like we have committed NO SINS in our life. I know a few times I've had to pinch 6 people in my ES or my GS and I've squeezed 5 in my old SC which is a 4 seater. Things happen sometimes.
3. The IS is a small car, again, if 4 people WANT to, they will FIND a way to sit in the back of your car.

I already said i'll probabaly make 2 trips and make someone wait it out...

But as far as letting someone drive my Civic... I put a lot time and money into that ride.. it may not cost as much as my IS but dosen't mean I don't value it. I still have more fun driving that over my IS... but it it was an all stock civic, then i can understand a statement about how can i not let someone drive it, but that isn't the case

But I never said I let my friends drive my IS....But while my family is in town, it would be more comfortable for them to use the IS...I'm not gonna say no to that, Thats just how I roll. I'm very fortunate to even have 2 cars. Not only that, I don't see my family as often as I like so I'm willing to do whatever to accomadate them. Yea I should get them a cab... the best and simple solution, but it would be a waste of money in thier eyes and I wouldn't mind making two trips as a last resort

but I just started the thread to see what other memebers have experienced with packing their ride....

I know some of you offerd some good options and thanks for it, but it just isn't going to work out for me.
