Lookin good.
However, I would rather use floss to take the amblems off.
you can floss off everything but the big L emblem. since that portion is sunken into the trunk, a pry tool like a paint can opener is better. put enough tape on your trunk and your pry tool so your trunk doesn't gets scratched. i didn't put enough on when i did it and i ended up scrapping a little paint off the trunk.
You should just use a heat gun to heat up the area and soften up the tape. Then you can use your fingers to pull it off. When you are done your fingers are going to be sore from the heat and pinching, but it is worth it not to scratch your car.
i just replaced my oem emblems with black pearl ones..all you need is some fishing string and a blow dryer and patience..it took me and buddy 30 min to do all of them...and yes i did the big L using the same procedure...DO NOT USE A TOOL...if your local i can help
i am currently doing the same thing with my sc. but didnt find this thread till now i plan on painting them on monday [when i have time in sun] and i actually sanded the chrome a bit so the paint can grab better. hows the black holding on, any chips so far? i hope not, you did a great job!
love the little detail changes that only CL members can really point out... to non LEX owners they wouldnt even have known... I would look twice if I saw you on the street
Are you guys re-using your stock emblems, then painting them black? Or buying new ones then painting them? I'm not understanding how to reuse them since there held-on with 3m tape.

Looks great by the way...
I used the stock ones. Why buy another set if you don't have to.
