Default What Wheels for IS250 AWD??

Hey Everyone,
just a question as I want to get rims for the car, but the problem is I have an IS250AWD as I've been told not to go staggered. I also want the wheels to come up to the fendor, as to get that full look.

What Wheels, size, offsets are people using on their AWD cars?

Why don't you PM the guys at www.d2autosport.com? They just recently hooked up CaThafer, one of the CL members, with a set of 20" wheels for her 250AWD. They have a lot of wheel options for all budgets, so I'm pretty sure they should be able to help you

Remember not to stagger it. You don't want to end up buying a new transmission, and since its a Lexus, we get to pay toyota markup.

Get some 19's with low profile tires. Fast way to get an idea of what rims look like off or on a car, try looking at the classified wheel section.

Good luck!

nope.. just referring to the other thread regarding staggering awd because it got locked.

As to the poster

I would suggest 19"
20" imo look pretty big and it will raise the car even after you drop

I'm trying to not go with staggered. It would be nice, but I will avoid it.
I don't want to go into a shop, since i would feel that I would have to buy the rims from them. This way, if i get recommendations on people who have done it, then i can just buy it online.

well stock offest for awd is +45 so i guess you can work from there if you want the same rim width.

i have AWD staggered, as do cl members chickenboy and cathafer. i know (from pms to me as well as reading posts) that there are a lot more awdrivers that are either in process of buying staggered or have done so already. i would suggest doing a search for awd staggered. and no, i have had no probs with tranny/engine.

staggered is the way to go. other awdrivers that got same wheels all around are now selling and getting staggered wheels. rolling on fat angelina jolies in the rear is nice.

Has anyone considered staggered width look? By this, I mean having all for wheels and tires the same size, except widening the rear track by using lower offsets in the rear. For example, 8.5 with +38 offset for the front, and 8.5 with +15, or 20 in the rear. This will give you the staggered look and widened rear track while keeping the same width wheels and tires.

That is a great idea. Can anyone chime in on if this will work?

btw.. Yes i know it was ricer to do that on a fwd car but we all go thru it.. i even had the knight rider lights on my legend.. hahah

D2 is great..and their customer service is excellent..i'm 110% happy with the staggered setup they did for me...i would definitely recommend them..even if you dont want to go staggered but want the look you can always get some custom wheels and have them stagger the lip while keeping the width of the wheel the same..i am doing this on my Iforged wheels for my GL450...you should give d2 a holler
