Default HELP..Situation here

Ok maybe I am a moron. But I need some help. I called Lexus to try to purchase the OEM IS 17" rims but they refused to sell them to me. They said that the IS 17" rims will not fit on my IS 350. I said how can that be since the IS 350 comes standard with 17" rims and you have to pay extra to get the 18" rim option. They said that wasn't true. They said that the IS 350 (both '06 and '07 models) come standard with 18" and 17" is not possible. I said that I thought they were wrong. They put me on hold and come back a few minutes later. He said that he checked with sales and sales said it only came with 18". I told him I would call him back.

Went on lexus website and saw that the IS 350 comes standard with 17" rims. At this point I'm kinda pissed. I called back to talk to a guy in sales and he then proceeds to tell me that the IS350 comes standard with 18" rims. Ok, I am now ready to scream. I then ask him what exactly I paid for when I purchased the 18" rim option. He said he is not aware of anything like that being available. I then proceed to get the parts and service managers name.

Now before I call them and chew them out, I need to know I'm not crazy. Will someone (multiple people would be great) confirm that the IS350 comes standard with 17" rims and that the OEM 17" IS250/350 rims will fit on my IS350 (that has been running with 18's).

I am ready to purchase 17" lexus OEM rims with 225-45-17 (front) and 225-50-17 rear winter tires, but the dealership (who I want to store the tires) refuse to sell me 17" rims.

Help please!

Why not call someone else.

Yes, the 350 comes with 17"s standard.

Yeah, the 18's are a option. Wouldn't be the first time a dealer was not up to speed on what is and isn't standard equipment, but it's odd to me that the service dept would tell you that OEM 17" won't fit.

I have a 2007 IS 350 on order. For the winter I am purchasing from the dealership the OEM 17" wheels, exactly the same wheels that come with the IS 250/350. I don't know what your dealer is telling you, it doesn't seem right.

Why bother with your dealer - they obviously don't know their **** from a hole in the ground. Call Sewell Lexus (do a search on lexus-parts), they are an approved vendor of this forum and they'll be happy to hook you up, prolly for alot less than your local stealer . . .
