Default sliding alert

I was told by the dealer that when the IS350 slides (VDIM/trac kicks in), the driver will hear a beeping alert to let them know the car is on a slide/unsafe. Well When I take turns real hard, I see the traction light flash, but no beeping is hear. Does anyone else hear a noise?

I have an '07 and yes you can hear a beeping noise, if your radio is turned down.

is it only with real bad slides, or can you hear it when the back end skids a bit on a sharp turn? I wonder if somethings wrong with my car. Thanks

you have to really push the car hard...try this: from the power brake stance (foot on brake, and slowly give it gas until wheels start spinning), give it a nice burn then release the brake and apply more gas (punch it), the car will get a little sideways then straighten itself out, if you do it right..you will achieve alert nirvana. p.s. be careful...and remember its way cooler if youre on a non busy street, preferably at a 4 way intersection...that way you can get it almost completely sideways into a left hand turn. The IS will really start yelling at you then...

I have never heard the beeping, and I have seen my traction light flash quite a few times.

Perhaps I just engaged traction control, not the VDIM system as a whole?

VDIM controls everything, so engaging traction is having vdim step in. The beeping sound is VDIM yelling at you, basically saying youre driving like a madman, or at the road holding limits of the vehicle (or so the onboard electronics thinks!!). Trust me you gotta push the car hard to hear it. It's pretty rare that you can get GOOD tire spin with vdim active, when you can achieve lengthy wheel spin with it on, you'll hear the beeping.

It's probably just traction control catching the wheel(s) from slipping, as you apply a bit more throttle than necessary early in the turn. I've had it happen a few times with no beeps.

Nothing is wrong with your car bro. I was wondering about this beeping sound for a while too. When I thought I was pushing the IS350 pretty hard, apparently it wasn't hard enough.

The car will flash the SLIP light when TRAC/VDIM/whatever else is working. But, it will only BEEP when the car thinks it cannot handle the loss of traction and such, to warn the driver of a possible crash.

I don't hear a noise, of course I keep VDIM turned off. If you want to hear the noise, find a nice empty parking lot free of nasty little things like parking ties and concrete light poles, go into the middle of it and stop, cut the wheel hard left to steering lock and stomp the pedal to the floor. You'll get about half way through a doughnut, feel the car 'go soft' and hear the beeping...

I took my car to the track at Streets of Willow and I was getting the lights blinking everywhere but didn't hear any beeping and I was pushing the car pretty hard. I never disabled the traction control, it was active the whole time. Maybe be the beeping is only on '07s.

Mine is an 06 as well...like I said before, when you've thought you've driven your car hard, drive it harder then you'll hear the warning beeps.
