Default A thought about emblems...

So i was thinking, whats going to stop someone with an IS250 from getting IS350 emblems and sticking it on their car?

Who would be lame enough to do that?
or ami lame for thinking about it? :P

It happens all the time on Mercedes. I've seen so many cars with the AMG badges or incorrect badging. A car that's obviously not a (for example) S55, but it'll have the S55 badging.

Who are they fooling? The real car enthusiasts know, and the ones that don't... well don't even car in the first place.

Is the IS350 and the IS250 visibly different?

That's right. The front brake caliper will tell you whether it's a fake IS350.

Hopefully constant ridicule will stop someone from doing that.

I can see de-badging (something I plan on doing, not because I own a 250 but because I like everything smooth/clean) but not re-badging as a 350. That's just...BLECH!

How about putting the 250 badge on the 350. I think that would be funny when you get ricky rocket in a civic who wants to play.

How do you plan in filling in the holes?

I can't wait until someone puts an IS350 badge on a Corolla.

Has anyone seen the pics of someone trying to pass a Prius for a hybrid Lexus?

haha i think that's hilarious... lexus prius. anyway, that would be ridiculous to change the 250 badges to 350. now the debadging is fine, but i wouldn't do it (i got BP emblems for a reason).

On my way home from EOS, there was a COROLLA with full Lexus badging all over the car. I wish I had been able to stop laughing long enough to take a picture with my camera phone... it was quite an amusing sight.

cars with AMG Sport packages will have the AMG emblem so it'll say S500 AMG for example if you bought an S500 with the AMG sport pack.

I don't know. Reminds me of a story that my friend told me. Someone bought a 330i and rebadged it as a 318i. He would (street?) race ppl (not in America, some other country) and beat them (of course) and the opponents would always walk away scratching their heads, wondering how they lost to a 318i lol.

Not in America. But in other countries yes.
I don't find it 'bad' when folks put AMG badges on their car if they've got the wheels, or the kit, or the whatever ya know?

It's the rebadging to a higher model that irks me. Why not just debadge? Looks just as good if not better if you're ashamed of your car (which... you shouldn't be if you're buying a car that's got a badge! )

I am debadging my 350 soon. I will also fill up those holes with bodyshop work. Just want a clean look only.

I have Endless BBK, so I don't know what you guys will think if you see a debadged 2IS with BBK on it. 250 or 350? Lol.. does it matter?

I think the love towards the our rides are more important than how many pony power in them.

Hahaha... This happens all the time w/Mercedes cars. Non-AMG wants to be AMG.
