Default Smart Key locking car automatically question

I was told by the sales person when I purchased my 350 that the smart key can automatically lock the car when the remote is a certain distance away from the vehicle. Basically, when you walk away from the it would automatically lock the car.

I recently took my car in for the 1k mile check up and asked them to check on this setting because it was not locking automatically. When they did the check up they said that there was no such setting and that I had to hit either the lock button on the transmitter or the black button on the door handle to lock the car.

So the question for all of you gurus out there is who is right. If you can set it to lock automatically without hitting a button. What is the setting. If it can't be done then I will simple write it off as a salesperson just trying to blow smoke.

Thanks

There is an auto lock feature, but only when you unlock your car without opening the doors. This feature does not work if you are getting out of your car, in this case you must "manually" lock the car with either the inside lock button, by flipping your lock toggle, by touching the black button on the outside or with the keyless entry remote.

I will usually just ignore whatever the salesman says about the cars. 99% of the time, they have no clue what they're talking about.
