2007 IS250 with illuminated scuff plates?
You can pay $10.00 and download the wiring diagram or the service manual on http://techinfo.lexus.com/
Let us know what you find.

The 2007 model info is still unknown until someone attempts the install, but as far as the 2006 model goes, please refer to this thread for installation info:

You can pull off the scuff plates and test the wire with a volt meter. One of the wires should be a negative trige(-), possiably with the door switch.
I have no interest in spending almost $300.00 on the plates.

I ordered the illuminated plates from Sewell (Lexus-Parts.com) for $180 or so. I'm attaching their summer special below which gives all the information for ordering them. Their special price was $169 till 8/31. Their regular price is $198 and we get a 10% Club Lexus discount on that so you can buy them for less than $200.

I would do that if I had an IS but I havn't purchased one just yet.
There is no point for them to build a car without wires, all cars that come off the assembly line have all the wires for all options standard, so when you bring it in to the dealership to upgrade from non navi to navi it will be plug and play for them although they may say that they spent 3 hours doing it. If someone had a vw or a bmw or audi if you look in the trunk it will say like prewire for phone, prewired for cd changer and etc. so just lift those plates up maybe a bit of carpet and look for a wire. If its there you can get those plates of a junk yard or something
