i don't mind paying the extra buck in gas. I just like to know my engine is running as efficient as possible. I drive in pwr + S-Mode pretty often.
But for daily driving it's full auto in normal mode.

another question would be how many MPG you would gain (if any) if you drive in snow mode. I assume less torque to the wheels?

It's dependent on right foot/engine load in my opinion. Given that you'd have to really get on the throttle to realistically get up to traffic speed, means you're doing the opposite of what power mode is doing. One is trying to prime you for acceleration, the other is doing its best to limit any type of traction loss. Getting up to speed quickly, then coasting as much as possible nets the best MPG results, as opposed to going near full throttle, just to be inching along up to 35ish mph in snow mode, lol. I personally think normal mode is best suited for balance, followed by power mode, while either should closely be held in combination with a steady/light right foot.

does anyone know exactly what's happening in these mode... it seems that the throttle sensitity is changed... what exactly is changing... is it at a more aggressive timing/fueling? anyone?

At my track on Saturday night, I ran most of my first few runs with the PWR off (not what I usually do), then switched it to PWR on (keep in mind vehicle is now a little hotter)...difference was .1 faster in the 1/4 mile, though probably .15 if I had run it in ther first place when I started.

[QUOTE=Technique;2136958]lol, all this milage talk amuses me... Gas could go to $10/gallon and I still wouldn't think twice about "milage"...

Let me see here: Translation...........I've got money and I don't give a damn about you or the rest of the world. I think about ME, ME, ME. Or do I have it wrong?

Opinion: Your show such 'American' values here.

watch it hippie. If you don't like it move to Canada.
Car makers are changing their car line ups to provide better cars with higher MPG. heck, maybe we just need larger cars to drive our overweigh fat asses.
But i honestly think a trend towards better MPG is coming (and is here in California). These "american values" you talk about are changing.

Americans, or our values? Answer: No, and just your values on this issue. I might agree with you on other matters...

WTF are you saying. Perhaps if you kept yourself a little more informed outside the realm of cars you wouldn't ask such a question. You would already know the answer. Americans? I am one and love most. But the impression some of us give those around the world is FY and that's where I have a problem. We use 25+% of the world's resources and account for just 5% of the population. Americans are the largest polluters on the planet and waste the most of almost everything and think nothing of it. My point is there should be some balance between what you use and what you 'really' need. My friendly advice to you would be this: If you don't care about how much gas you use or it's price; keep it to yourself and people like me (of which there are many) won't call you on it.

Yeah, I know. You can kick my butt, out race me and proably have more $$$. Don't care and I'm movin on to the next thread.

american values and way of life are extremely wasteful, should see how much gas/food/electricity is wasted be people, its sickening. As long as things are inexpensive people will waste it, rising gas prices was a nice wake up call
