Alright, so I was driving on the highway this morning and had to merge. So I gave my 350 a little gas, but not to more than 2500-3500 rpms going about 70MPH, and my engine just died, the car did not shut off, but the rpms dropped from the 3000 area to 500 or less(quick glance, i was trying to keep my eyes on the road), very quickly. First i just thought my foot slipped off the gas, but then i pushed down on the accelerator a little and nothing, then a few more guick pumps on the gas and it finally goes...big problem, or over reacting?
By the way, the car is a 350, has 2700 miles on it and a half tank of gas, no engine mods currently...
You are planning to take to dealer???
Thats Major.
Did you get a check engine light?
That sucks
O yea, i forgot, the engine check light DID NOT come on, at any time. And i would love to take it to the dealer but im leaving town if like 2 days and i dont want it sitting outside for 5 days....plus i dont know if i could even get in...
Now that was on my way to school, but on my way back, no problems, it seemed pretty much normal, you guys still think i should get o the dealer right away?
I know this sounds stupid, but did you check to make sure "snow mode" was off? This sounds like what my car does in snow mode. It robbs me of all my power. Just a thought.

Or it may be VDIM, but I doubt it.
Perhaps you drove over an oil slick or something and the car was able to "see" it?
Well it wasnt in snow mode mode because I always keep it in ECT mode and i dont think it was VDIM because i havnt really gotten into any of the hacks, like vdim, or nav or w/e it may be, so if it was vdim, it wasnt me. As for the oil slick, that might be a consideration if it werent for the fact that i pressed the gas several times after it gave out and nothing...
My 350 did a similar thing in/out of a corner once, but I attributed it to VDIM kicking in. Now, I wonder, because I didn't think I was hitting the corner very hard at all. Only once, in 3300 miles, so far. Can anyone describe for me an exact manuver that would cause VDIM to kick in?

This happened to me on I 80-94 in Indiana (not a plesant place to happen... lots a traffic) I put a bottle of Iso Heet in and it never happened again. I attribute it to water in the gas.
If it was VDIM, i could see the gas letting off, but would i really have to pump the pedal to get it going again? It was probably powerless for at least 2-3 seconds, again, the engine did not shut off, the RPM's just dropped really low and hitting the gas did nothing. If this IS VDIM, having no power for several seconds in not saving me from anything...
