I just found out today some paint was chipped off on the rear door behind the passenger side. Looks like someone's SUV or truck swinged its door too wide and scraped it. My question is can touch-up paint be used in this situation? The chips are not too big but it is slightly bigger than normal rock chips. If I take this to Lexus, I wonder how much it will be for them to paint the spots? However, I saw no dents around the chipped area so that is kind of a relief.
When you paint it, they can't just paint one "spot". They usually have to respray the whole door. I think your best bet is just to purchase a touch up paint pen and fix it yourself.

Actually, there is a spot painting technique using an airbrush and special paints, used by chains like Aero-colours and Chips-away as well as independent operators. Very popular with used car dealers for removing rock chips from the front of cars. Results are supposedly better than touchup paint but not as good as repainting the entire panel.
I have a small paint chip on my rear bumper caused by a moment of carelessness loading garden tools into the trunk; I've been contemplating giving the process a try.
