Default Memory Function

Hi gang,

I was reading through my manual tonight, and setting the seat to adjust according to which driver key fob is used to unlock the vehicle. I remember reading that the key fob is also supposed to be linked to mirror position, temp, radio station memory settings, steering wheel position, etc. Is the procedure to set all of those items the same - that is, do you just press the memory button 1, 2 or 3 and hold down unlock or lock on your key fob?

I know this is in the manual, but it didn't show itself when I paged through tonight. Thanks to anyone that can help out.

If you want the key fob matched to a specific memory setting, then yes, you hold down the corresponding button and the lock/unlock button on the fob for like 3 seconds until it beeps. Here's the curious thing, you need to redo this procedure every time you make an adjustment to your memory setting, or else the key fob will retain the old settings even though the memory setting is now different . . . (know this from trial & error - mostly error)

I haven't set my seats yet as I'm the only one that drives the car, but would be interested in setting the memory sometime. So you hold down the corresponding button and BOTH the lock&unlock buttons on the for for 3 seconds?

I believe the procedure is to first get all the settings where you like them (e.g., seat position, mirror position, steering wheel, etc.). Next, store those settings in one of the three Memory buttons on the door. Last step will be to correlate the keyfob with that selected memory button.
