Default Passport "smart cord" install help.

Yes, I did a search. Most of the talk was about the V1 but not the 8500 X50. My question is not how to hard wire but rather if anyone has used the Direct Wire Smart Cord? This is different than just the direct wire cord as it comes with a mute button, power and alert light. I’m thinking that it could be mounted on one of the “blanks” next to the sun shade button. Since the wire has to run directly past this area going to the fuse box, it seems like a logical place to install the “smart button”. I just don’t know how easy it would be to get behind the dash to mount it. Has anyone done this or have any suggestions?

I don’t have my IS yet and I have already purchased the radar detector.

OK then, thanks for all the help

Seriously, has no one installed the direct wire smart cord for their passport?
