I find it hard to believe that Toyota would make this change based on this web site and the complaints expressed by a few. It would be nice if they did though. We owners on this site are a very small percentage of owners out there (I think were more enthusiastic than most). If they really wanted to listen to us they'd give us the 6 speed manual tranny!
I'm sure the rags whining and the owner's verification all helped in making the change. The rags usually have an agenda/bias towards a specific manufacture/s so their whining alone may not be enough. In this case pretty much all the rags had the same complaint which was also verified by owners. When does ANYTHING get fixed? When there is enough complaining!

I would have to say the location of the AUX audio and power jack. I don't like the fact that you can't close the armrest without bending the cables. I hardly use them but it could have been in a different location. Just my thoughts.

I think they take into account, to a small extent, consumer *****ing on forums like this. But I think it's obvious that what lit the fire under Lexus's *** was the lambasting they took from all the car rags about having traction/stability control that couldn't be turned off.

Personally, VDIM doesn't bother me. I can drive at pretty outrageous speeds on the twisties on my way to work, and VDIM doesn't rear its head unless I do something stupid, which is why I want it to be on. About the only time it bugs me is in slower turns when I'm trying to get power down... it won't let you drive with the throttle and bring the rear end around. However, I'm sure it will save me money on rear tires, nevermind points on my license. So I'm not going to complain too much.

Besides, when I really want to just drive and enjoy a car on some good roads, I'm not driving the Lexus... I'm planted in a Miata

Could agree more. On my acura the power source was at the bottom of the arm rest but there was a little tunnel the wires could go through to come out of. Other than that the car is perfect in my eyes.

Location of the AUX jacks sucks bigtime.........Whoever decided that was an awesome spot should be taken outside and sticky rice cast upon their naken body... Just plain stupid.

I'm extremely happy with the car

1st year model run and low problems...haven't been to the dealer once in first 7 month of ownership.

My only concern is the soft paint that chips extremely easy. A clear bra solves this problem but still annoying how quickly you can get chips even with proper highway driving.

Similar to how all the NAV features are locked during driving, I think the aux location was intentional. You won't mess with your mp3 player much when you have to open a hatch to get to it.

These are the type of posts that I wanted to read when I was searching for a new car. Maybe it is my type of personality, but I wanted to hear any and all gripes people had about a car so I could say to myself, "I can live with that", "That doesn't bother me". I read many many 'complaints' people had about the IS and they were minor things. Because of this, I purchased an IS350. So I say thank you to everyone who has posted their minor complaints and not just blasted the IS.

By the way, I love my car. Any small complaints that I have are minor or Lexus won't change anyway. I have not done the Nav Hack yet (scared to actually) and being stopped from operating many of the great features is probably my worst complaint.
