I just received my 06 IS250 with navi, with no DVD. Did the navigation DVD come with the car, or is that item extra. I am currently in Fairbanks Alaska, and im thinking I wont be able to use the navigation system unless the DVD has extra regions on it. Any help would be much appreciated.

 

The DVD should come with the car. We have 4 vehicles in our household with nav and they all came with the DVD.

 

it should ALREADY be in the car. you just start the car and the nav should work already. just go to regions and see if you can choose alaska (this one i am not sure about gen 5 nav)

 

Region selction works the same way for Gen 5 Nav.

 

Also, in your NAVI manual, there is a section (the very last section in fact) that tell you how to swap out the nav DVD from the unit. I still think the navi will *not* work in Alaska. corret me if I am wrong.

 

So I think the Nav will still work in AK but there may not be any maps because I looked in the region selection and there are only 48 states listed.

 

yes, that was my question. i am sure it will work and i am sure you can change region. but do they have maps for alaska?!
