Default Aftermarket Spoiler Problem

i had purchased the rear spoiler and had the subcontractor that lexus uses do the install for $50. the part costs me $200. this is really good price but i am having probs with the left and right side corners not being completely flush so there is a slight gap. i can push it down and feel the double sided tape stick a little better but later on it rises a bit.

feel like taking some super glue and making both corners stick flush. i checked out the spoler from the factory and no probs as i think they use multiple points on the trunk lid to attach screws. the after market install uses 3 screws primarily in the center of the trunk rather than 1 in the middle and 1 on each corner. i think cuz of the limited spoiler space on the corner there is not much room to use a screw and thats why the use of doublesided tape.

i had already had them reinstall the spoiler and the gap is less but still not completley perfect.

any suggestions?

Aren't the slight gaps there to drain water and dirt? I posted sometime earlier, the lip spoiler on the 2IS is just there to trap dirt (instead of letting them flow off the rear end). During the negotiation process, the dealer offered to throw in one for mine, but I told them to keep it and give me another $300 off istead. They agreed!

Wing spoilers (if/whenever they are available) are better!

How about some 3M tape to make it stick? you mentioned that you can push it down, it'll stay for a bit and then rise up so maybe putting some 3M tape there will make it stick better. Just a thought.

i'm confused... i thought you said it was an aftermarket part? hahah anyways... maybe the installer drilled the holes too high?
