Not in my experience....been running SilverStars for the last four years in our RX-300. Headlights, hi beams and fogs. No problems. I suspect some problems come from people touching the bulbs (a no-no) when installing and/or not insuring the fit is tight.

Quote: yea, the ion yellow PIAA one's are nice and bright. I love them, does no one else think that taking out the parking lights is better than having 3 different shades of color?
Yeah 3 different shades is not my style. I say 2 is ok.

I just changed mine to PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow last month. It is designed for Snow/Rain/Fog condition. I like the color very much. Very very yellow

Quote: Not all that expensive compared to other well known brands. I bought a pair of Raybrigs for 80 dollars and they lasted 3 months.
whats the deal with raybrigs? I still have raybrigs on my civic and they've been on the car for just about 5 years... i hear bad stuff about raybrigs burning out from time to time, but mine have been fine.. and i've taken them out a bunch of time when i've switch headlights... i wonder what it is

Besides price, what is the difference between brands of bulb? E.g., PIAA, Sylverstar, Raybrigs, Nokya... etc.

ive ran PIAA's on an Acura Legend for 5 years now? i think they r the best u can buy, any bulb can burn out because of a bad installation process.
