Default IS350 6spd ?

Any rumors of a possible 6 speed option for the new IS350?

I heard Elvis, Hoffa and 2 Pac are stashed away in some secret toyota lab in Montana designing a 350 6 speed as we speak... I cant wait to take a road trip with those guys!

Dont believe me? Call the Deon Warwick and her psychic friends network..

No confirmed info yet. Lexus philosophy has always leaned towards the "Manuals are not Luxurious, but Automatic Trannys are Luxurious" ideology.

If they do make an IS350 manual, and even the IS500 for that matter, I will be very suprised.

I will even go all the way and say that if they make the LF-A a manual, I will be very suprised!

I heard Lexus is developing a 10 speed manual tranny. Oh it will have a jake-brake instead of a parachute for stopping!

I agree, but why make the manual available in the 250 but not the 350?

if anything, i think we should look at the is500 first. if it has 6 speed, we can pray for that on the is350. if not, forget it

Some here have said that Toyota doesn't have a manual tranny in their parts bin robust enough to handle the torque of the IS350. I'm not sure I buy that, given that the Supra Turbo must have put out at least as much torque as the IS350, but that's what people are saying.

The Supra made 320ft lb stock using the Getrag tranny, which has proven to hold near 1000wtq in stock form, reliably. Even if they no longer used the getrag, it's obvious the have the means neccessary to develop a transmission that could easily hold the power.

If Lexus was so concerned with the "luxury" philospophy, why would they not adopt this mentality with the 250?

Because Toyota had a part that would work in the IS250 and no part for a IS350 application.

Somebody lock this thread....major rehash!
