i have read numerous threads about springs and I am still undecded about which set of spring sto purchase.
I am looking for the most agressive drop more than 1 inch but I would like to retain the smooth ride of my IS 350. Any recommendations? Thanks
Hey Fity,
I would recommend the Road Magnet springs which have an approximate 1.5" drop and are also guaranteed FOR LIFE. They will also provide a drop without "settling" which happens with a lot of springs that after a few years become unusable because they continue to "settle" and affect ride quality.
the dampening rate of shocks/struts determine how firm the ride will be NOT springs, aftermarket springs have to be paired with a good set of aftermarket shocks for good ride quality, be prepared for a ugly ride keeping OEM shocks/struts and going with aftermarket springs rates

both (springs and shocks) have a part in how stiff your ride will be. If your position were true, a car with 20 kg springs would ride the same as the same car with 10 kg springs if the dampers were the same.

If the aftermarket spring rates and drop are close to stock, then you shouldn't have problems with sticking with the OEM shocks.

I doubt a 1"+ drop as the OP requested will be anywhere near OEM spring rates, aftermarket struts will be a must for him
I would still say shocks/struts play a bigger role than springs in ride quality than most people suspect
