Default Tint Questions

I have never had a car I owned tinted, so all the terminology I see is a little confusing. I'm going to get my IS350 tinted this week, but I have some questions regarding tinting before I pick a shop. Is charcoal tint always metalic? Does metalic intefere with the GPS and Antenna (I see some ppl say yes, and some ppl say no)? Is there certain name brands of tint that I should look for and ones I should avoid?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I think the ceramic tint is the best when dealing with GPS and electronics..I sell the Formula one tint and I put the Pinnacle which is ceramic. You can put the metalic film but there is a chance for interference. Most people I encounter are not willing to take that risk.

Do they have different styles in F1 Pinnacle, like charcoal, smokey, etc ?

The satellite antenna is on the front windshield behind the rear view mirror, so, metallic tint is not a problem for the NAV antenna.

If you are planning on a non-standard install of Sirius or XM radio, you may wish to consider ceramic. (The factory instructions locate the antenna outside of the vehicle, a non standard install would place the antenna on top of the rear deck inside of the vehicle)
