Amen to that... I was lucky to find one ( IS250) on christmas eve. I gave it to my wife as a present. The salesman said it would take 2 monts to get one that I ordered or 6 weeks for them to get an inventory in. So I pulled the trigger.

< 1000 miles on mine and just finished a trip that got 34 mpg (constant 65 - 75 mph cruise control setting in fairly flat terrain). I was pretty impressed with that.

I drove my GS300 to the Disneyland (400 miles) and got 32 mpg. :-) I had my cruise conrol set to 80 mph. The key thing is to go steady. Use cruise control whenever possible.

And to think that it's only an average . Some of the 2 minutes of interstate driving you used to get this number was even better !

I guess I still prefer the old fashioned method of calculating mpg. On my road trip this weekend, the car said I got 35 mpg, the pencil says 32.5.
70 mph, A/C on lowest fan setting, and outside temperature about 90. Lexus site says 32 mpg so not bad. About 475 miles total. I'm hoping to break 500 this winter

I wonder if there is a fine tuning adjustment to calibrate the MPG reading on the trip computer using the dealer scan tool?

I manually calculate MPG on nearly every tank, and I consistantly acheieve between .5 and 1.5 MPG better than the trip computer estimates.

I'm seeing about 21 MPG on the trip computer, 22 MPG actual, in suburban driving. Even in hot summer weather, I find that using the car for lots of short trips - even with a feather foot on the gas pedal, kills my MPG more than a heavier throttle foot on longer trips.

I get 20-21, at about 95% city. I'm tired of being obsessed with it, I took that display off and just started drvinig the car, what's the point of having my IS350 if I try to save gas by driving it like a Kia?

Yeh, with a 350, I wouldn't be concerned about MPG. Too much fun going to 60.

Update on my MPG: Lifetime MPG is 30.1 MPG just over 2000miles. 36 MPG a tank with the AC off, 34 MPG a tank with it on pretty consistantly. Mostly highway driving 80% with the cruise set at 72 mph. 80mph gets 28 mpg. A few 0-60 gallops toasting some Civics (not the new Si of Course).
