I wasn't sure if the IS had such a system, although I suspected that it did. Like you mentioned, the electronic system can be (and usually is) very obtrusive, and hurts performance by applying brakes and reducing engine power. The preferred way to go is a mechanical LSD, and in my opinion, is a must-have if the option is available and affordable. For most people that never track their car, or even drive in a spirited manner from time to time, they'll never know the difference. For the rest of us, though...

But if it's just a straight up $500 cash, no way!
It's not about the dealership....

I guess I should clarify and say that it was the SALESMAN that is at fault here. Regardless of what any of us say though, the ultimate decision is up to the thread creator to decide what he should do. It is after all HIS money.

The "wood" is plastic too, BTW... And for the record, I agree with Philip's approach to this 100%.

correct. and he's asking us for advice. you're telling him to react to how he feels about the salesman. i'm saying forget about the salesman and what he did or didn't do.

Not true. It may be a paper-thin veneer glued to a plastic substrate, but it's real wood.

Then technically the "metallic" trim is metal, it has metal power mixed to tint the plastic material/finish.

looks like i'm gonna take it....i'm very handy with modifing cars so swapping the pedals will be easy for me...the only thing really left is if i dont like the ride i will swap to a set of sport springs that i'm sure i'm be able to pick up for super cheap from someone that upgraded...same goes for the metal/plastic painted trim ....lsd.....whatever i'll live without it .....the sunshade is a better go fast item
