I've noticed a rather prominant periodic hissing from my stock ML soundsystem which I can only assume is a blown speaker? Any ideas on how to further diagnos the issue? How would lexus go about fixing it? Any other possibilities as to what the issue could be? Its present on all systems (XM, CD/DVD, FM, etc).

Anyone else had similar issues?

 

have you turned the system on and put your ear up against each speaker?

If you're constantly hearing the hissing, why not just bring the car back to the dealer and have them do all the dirty work?? That's what the warranty is for.

 

A blown speaker doesn't usually result in hissing. Depending on the failure mode, a bad speaker will either be silent, sound extremely distorted at all times, or sound extrememly distorted only at high volumes or with certain kinds of sounds (e.g. piano). Hissing is more likely to be in the electronics or wiring. In any case, it's under warranty.
