that is one hell of a deal... This place in Utah wanted to charge me somewhere around 650-700 to install one 12 and a ported box...I already have an amp. They said it was because of the type of car and that it is new.

The amp in the picture is the Alpine MRD-M605, which produces 600 watts at 2 ohms. That's plenty enough power for those subwoofers.

Default Question for CMUSIC

Hey cmusic, do you recomend just adding 2 10"' subs and also just adding more watts to the stock speakers?? My question is basically, do you think supplying more power to the already exisiting oem speakers will sound dramatically better? I was told by a very-well known high end shop that it will.. What do you think?

Thanks

not sure how well that would work since the signal for the speakers are crossed over by the factory amp. the only options i could think of is using either an Audio control LC8 or JL cleansweep to feed the signal into and convert it to RCA output into aftermarket amps, but if you keep the stock speakers you would probably have to get some type of crossover to split the signal between the mids and tweeters. im sure cmusic will chime in with more info.

That's a good price. I had 1 12" Kicker L7 sub, Kicker amp, and digital cap installed for 681. The stock speakers hold up well against the bass.
