Default getting my 250 tomorrow!

nice to be a part of such a large forum. i had a volvo s40 before and it was very limited. so i am picking up my SGM 250 tomorrow and im pretty excited. ive got plans to red otu the tail lights but i had another question as well. i think the amber on the outside of the headlights would look good if it were whited out to match the rest of the headlight. im sure it isnt legal but i would still love the look of it. anybody know how difficult it is? i would imagine you have to take out the whole headlight and disassemble it to get in there which would be too much work for me but just wondering. im also getting tint soon. how dark could i go to make it still fit with the SGM? i was thinkin 35% but id like to go darker if itll still look ok. thanks in advance!

Don't know about removing the amber, but you may want to caution your tinter to keep the heat gun away from the window trim. There have been dozens of posts here from people who have had their trim damaged by careless installers.

But it's just a blow dryer, Bichon! Okay, okay, okay. I guess the result is much worse than split hair ends.

seanlakin, I'm not sure about the legalities at the state or federal level about changing the amber color... But you're right. I do think it would be a lot of work for a relatively small asthetics change.

Cheers,
Kermee

P.S. Congratulations BTW Throw us some pix of your car soon!

Def do 35, you'll regret if you go lighter and as for darker, hope you get away from the cops. Congrats on the car.

the turn signals can be any color as long as they blink amber. (at least in most States I believe)

As for the tint, you could go a little bit darker

Here's a link to the Tint laws by state - http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

To me, 35% on SGM is perfect shade.
