in the event that we wish to get the holes filled in and painted over, is that a big job? do you know if its costly? i suppose i could call a body shop to see but it would be cool if there are any autobody guys in here
You can buy these plugs at a Hardware store. I bought a package of four for $2.29. I painted them myself. I believe they're called 'Christmas Tree Plugs'. They have different tops, some thicker than others. I just bought a IS250 and one of the first things I did was get rid of that license plate in front. I did this often when I was customizing Camaros.
I think the plugs look just fine... There are lumps for the parking sensors on the front anyway, so it's not like it's 100% smooth... It sort of flows...
I think the plugs are the best alternative if you don't want to spend a lot of money and don't want a plate after the dealer has already drilled...
Plugs are better than holes or a plate. However, I would not have taken delivery of a car that had holes drilled in it. Most of the time I special order my cars and I let them know that I will not take the car if they drill any holes or add any emblems.
